105 Huron St., Houghton, MI 49931
The Carnegie Museum of the Keweenaw is based in Houghton and was opened through an effort by local parties to preserver local history and historic buildings. The Carnegie Museum resides in the former Portage Lake District Library, which opened in 1910. The museum connects people to the history, science, and technology of the region. The exhibits highlight the historical, social, natural, and artistic forces that characterize and continue to shape the Keweenaw.
