42373 Hancock St., Chassell, MI 49916
The Chassell Heritage Center is located in what was the H.E. Southwell Memorial School, which opened its doors in 1919 and closed its doors in 1992. Since the closure of the school, it has been maintained by the Chassell Historical Organization. The heritage center features an array of exhibits, including a special recognition of the 106 people serving the military in World War I, as well as a timeline on the township, the immigrants that have lived here, a display honoring the transition from a lumber town to a strawberry growing community, the railroads, the school, the fashion, and the settlers.
