Delaware Copper Mine

7804 Delaware Rd, Mohawk, MI 49950

The Delaware Copper Mine was operated during the copper boom from 1847 until 1887. Today, the site serves as a historic example of how life was in the copper mines in the 1800s. Tours start with a walk down 100 feet of stairs through the shaft and an additional 1700 feet through the original operation. Once above ground, visitors can walk through ruins of mine buildings, explore equipment displays, and transportation from the time. Tours run from May through October, 7 days a week.
